Small Wild Cats
Education and public awareness are major components of wildcat conservation. Three quarters of the world's wild cat species are
small. In spite of this, little is known of their behaviour, ecology or status. To increase public knowledge, we have compiled fact sheets
on all 38 species of the Felidae family - 37 wild species and one domestic cat. Reproduction of these fact sheets is encouraged. The
intention of writing them was to help spread the word on the small cats, and we urge you to continue the process. Read about the bigger wild
cat species here.
We have also translated the Neotropical (Central & South American) cat fact sheets into Spanish and
these are available below.
NOTE:All pictures are copywrited to the photographer and are not to be used for any commercial purpose whatsoever.
These fact sheets are also available in book form. See our Giftshop
for details.
